Humbled by Newton.
I generally prefer my "Newtonian" encounters to be of the fruited cake sort, complete with fig centers. In this case however I was sitting at my desk, alone in the office, thankfully, though not without witness as I was talking to Jon on the phone, when the late Sir Newton reached out with his cold, dead, crinkly finger to poke me straight in the eye. "For every action there shall be an equal reaction of opposite direction" a lesson I thought sure to have been seared into my brain during my formative college years. I was fiddling with my vitamin water (Focus flavor, ironically) trying pretty hard to get that damn white ring off that comes on all twist top plastic bottles. Phone pressed between ear and head, I employed both hands to attempt to remove the ring and then just like that it came free, but as I had been pulling in my direction with both hands instead of using one hand to pull and one to balance the bottle, when it came free in my direction, the half full bottle of vitamin water sprang forth toward my computer, spilling. At this point I did what anyone would do and made a desperate grab for it. Thankfully I channeled all of the grace and touch of a 900 lb grizzly bear. I hit the bottle waaaay too hard and with an unnecessary upward trajectory ensuring that it would spill the entirety of its contents on my electronic devices. Focus Pocus. False advertising I think.
My apartment looks like a grenade went off but killed only pants and shirts. I'm flying to Pennsylvania again tomorrow so I'm trying to get all of my laundry clean and folded so that the baggage handlers can wrinkle them and I can get paint and dust on them next week. Seems kind of foolish really but here I am doing it anyway.
I've been sleeping a lot lately. Not sure why really. I'm eating as well as I ever have; taking my supplements; even cutting back on beers and wine. Still, I find myself without the energy to do some of the things that I really want to do. Go to the gym for example. Those two things could be related actually. The weather has been really nice the last few days save for the one torrential downpour on Tuesday. Sunny, warm, bit of cloud cover. Nice. All I want to do is nap. Can someone slap me. I wait all year for days like this. Now I even have the time to enjoy them and I'm wasting them.
Well kids, I've got some things yet to accomplish this afternoon so I must be going. Hope to talk to you all soon, sorry for the delay in posting.

I slap you. Get your ass to the gym. I feel the same way. After two weeks you'll be running up stairs (or maying lumbering up them in a graceful bear-like fashion)and thinking... "There aren't any more stairs? That's all of them? COMEON!"
Plus you can have flexing parties with your mirror afterwards. Nothing better than looking "amazing" after some hard work.
Bring on the red motorcycle! Bring on the black leather pants! And the cheesecake. Please bring that too.
Newton is a stinker isn't he? I am taking Mr. David to yoga on Thursday in Birmingham, would you like to join us? We can perk you up a bit and check out chicks together.
you funny.
I'm giggling. I was searching for Newton's Organic Bakery in Los Angeles and I was brought face-to-face with your Newtonian middle finger. A few hellos back at you from Santa Monica (I'm hypothesizing that Newton + middle finger = hello with a lot of momentum ;-)
