Planes, Trains and Automobiles...

I'm sitting in my apartment trying desperately to think of what else I could possible need to pack. I'm 3 hours from boarding a plane to see Joy. I always let this happen. For one reason or another I call Milani prior to leaving to go anywhere and the conversation quickly turns to how we should be drinking some beers and cruising the lake on the pontoon. Next thing you know it's midnight and you haven't even done the requisite laundry for packing your suitcase, let alone begun to pack it. And so I run around looking for things I haven't worn in a year because I am certain I might find occasion to wear them in Montpellier, which is warm this time of year to say the least. Still, I will not be deterred from washing this long sleeve shirt or lint rolling that sweater. Fools errand, certainly. Still doing it.

I'm incredibly excited about this trip. Joy's birthday was a few days ago and so we've decided to spend a few days in Paris to celebrate. This will be my first time back to Paris in nearly 7 years. I'm particularly excited about the public bicycle posts that they have now. Drop in a couple of Euros and off you go, cycling about town. Not sure if Paris is a bicycle friendly town or not but I'm looking forward to finding out.

I've got Nic coming to give me a ride to the airport before I begin my 24 hours of travel. First to Amsterdam, then to Paris before I board the TGV for a 4 hour 168mph trip to Montpellier. The weather is far better looking this time than the last time I tried this so I shouldn't encounter any delays in take-off. Light your jesus candles for me that my luggage might arrive on time as well. That's been a big problem for me lately. I'm due back the evening of the 23rd. I would say hang tight, don't stress about the lack of postings but if you check this blog with any kind of regularity you're not worried about that anyway.

Oh man, I think you screwed yourself with asking for the jesus candles and the luggage.

Maybe you'd better go light some jesus candles, yourself, and ask forgiveness for whatever you did to piss him right off. ;)

Why do I make that smily? I've already written about this elsewhere, but I read an e-card that said "You're single because you use emoticons" and I laughed myself silly.
